Tim Deane

Became a farm worker in 1974 after finishing university with a degree in history and archaeology. Ten years later bought small farm in Devon with wife Jan, and started growing organic vegetables. Founder member and director of Somerset Organic Producers, a Westcountry marketing cooperative.

Said goodbye to the wholesale market in early 1990s when we developed selling through boxes - the first UK holding to market exclusively through a box scheme.
