OGA Membership

Since its launch in December a volunteer committee has been working hard to put the idea of the Alliance into action. This has included writing a constitution for the membership organisation and then opening a bank account. As with most things in our lives this was far easier to say than to do. However after 5 months we now are officially an “unincorporated organisation with a membership” and have recently opened a Social Enterprise account with Triodos Bank. Membership was first invited through the conference report, published in late January, and since then our numbers have grown to fifty. We are aware that the word has not got out to all growers and within this journal you will find the details on how to join. Please pass these on to anyone you know who may be interested in supporting our work and joining the Alliance. We are now in the process of setting up a website www.newoga.org.uk and when this is up and running the constitution will be there for all to see. We have received some donations and would like to thank Triodos bank, Carolyn Wacher and Organic 2000 in Manchester for their kind support of the Organic Growers Alliance.

Not a member of the OGA? Join Us

Join the Organic Growers Alliance and help to build an effective representative organisation for organic horticulture.

Benefit your business through increased opportunities for information exchange and new insights into the craft of growing organically. Enjoy the sense of community that comes from contact with other growers! Membership includes entry to all OGA events at cost, subscription to this journal, access to other forms of communication as they are developed and support from a recognised representative body in dealing with any regulatory and bureaucratic problems that may affect your business.

Full membership is open to anyone whose living depends wholly or mainly on commercial organic growing. This includes those employed in practical horticultural research and advice.

Associate membership is available to non-growers who wish to support the work of the OGA. It covers the same access to events and publications, but does not include the right to a vote in any ballot of members.

Annual subscription for both categories is £25.

Student membership - as associate membership, but with a subscription of £15.
